Early 20c Hand Carved Chinese Camphor Chest

A new & exciting arrival to our shop is this amazing hand carved Chinese camphor wood chest from the early 1900’s.
 
A grand sized chest originally for the use of storing linens, with the beautiful & unique camphor wood scent that keeps the moths away!
 
Rich blends of colour & warming finish combined with it’s dazzling carvings of Chinese sail boats give this piece a truly tranquil glow.
 
Distinct patterned grain throughout, standing on carved clawed feet. When lid is open it is supported by a brass latch to stay strong & stable.
 
Floral brass plate is a decorative & functional feature, locking with a padlock & key. Shown in photos.
