19C Teak Campaign Dockyard Chest on Chest

19C Teak Campaign Dockyard Chest on Chest

Recently restored in our workshop - This 19c teak wood campaign dockyard chest on chest of drawers, an absolutely beautiful part of history.

These dockyard chests originated from Portsmouth & Plymouth. The split chest design was produced to make loading a lot more practical. This particular one began life on Portsmouth docks in the late 1800s.

Made from solid teak wood. Traditional brass drawer handles. Chest is secured by both halves locking into place. Feet are original.

Given a finish that not only gives this fantastic piece of furniture the glow it deserves but keeps the stories from it’s travels in tact.
