19c Walnut Campaign Chest of Drawers

A beautiful richly coloured walnut & brassware campaign chest on chest of drawers.
Made in the late 1800’s to be used in the military, the traditional split design indicates this chest would have traveled around the world on naval ships carrying the assigned officers belongings.
Very unusual to come across a solid walnut chest of this design and age as they were mainly teak or mahogany.
This piece has a dazzling golden glow & exquisite detailed grain highly polished to accentuate it’s features. It has no problem taking centre stage in any room.
Chest has 5 drawers all fitted with it’s original brass flush handles & escutcheons. Locks are original. Brass carrying handles on each side & angle straps have been fitted. Chest stands on turned feet.
Interior of the drawers are finished with dovetail joints which show off the highest quality of craftsmanship this chest possesses.
