19c Colonial Teak Military Campaign Chest of Drawers

An exciting new arrival to our shop is this wonderful 19th century Indian teak campaign chest of drawers
 
Sporting a fabulous golden tone & detailed grain throughout, you will not find many teak pieces from this origin with such colour. The chest has been finished to our highest standard possessing a truly graceful shine. Once polished the piece has been heavily waxed to add a warmth to it’s unrivalled glow.
 
Being a colonial piece once for military use this chest has the traditional split design made famous by these beautiful campaign pieces. The main reason for this design was for practicality purposes to make these chests easier to load on & off of naval ships overseas.
 
The fitted brassware angle straps & inset flush drawer handles are original as are the steel carrying handles on either side of each section of the chest. Standing on turned bun teak feet. Chest consists of 5 drawers. Interior of all drawers are also solid teak lined.
